Key

Intake Louver Vent, Exhaust Fan, and Digital Temp Control: An electric Exhaust Fan (also called mechanical ventilation) paired with a Intake Louver Vent dramatically improves ventilation in the warm months when an over heated greenhouse can cause damage or even kill your plants. The fan is turned on by the Digital Temp Control thermostat so it comes on at your desired max temperature for the plants you are growing. All commercial greenhouses have this feature and a well performing backyard greenhouse should have it as well.

Infrared Heat: See blog on The Benefits of Infrared Heat

GAHT Lite: See GAHT Lite page

Frame Material: See Sunglo FAQ on Aluminum vs Steel.

Cover Material: See Sunglo FAQ on Why Acrylic.

Light TR %: 1% increase in light means 1% increase in plant growth, so the 10% higher transmission of light through acrylic vs polycarbonate means a critical 10% increase in plant growth.

R-value: Measure of resistance to heat flow, thermal transmission. The higher the R-value the better suited the greenhouse is to true 4 season growing.

Season:

4 season – True 12 month growing season

3 season – March to November growing season

2 season – March to June and September to November growing season
